Review: LaunchCode Moonshot Awards

To celebrate the winners of LaunchCode’s annual Moonshot Awards, the coder organization enlisted our help designing and fabricating their one-of-a-kind custom awards. Here’s what they have to say about the experience:

“For the past two years, LaunchCode was thrilled to enlist MADE for a custom award to honor our Moonshot Award winners – an honor recognizing St. Louis trailblazers working toward new solutions to better our community. 

We approached the team at MADE while planning our inaugural Moonshot Awards in 2019 in hopes they would dream up an award just as unique and innovative as the event itself. We were blown away by the vision of the designers! The team was easy to work with, budget-friendly and extremely responsive in the design and execution process. The end result was something our Moonshot winners will always cherish – a custom made, rocket-shaped trophy with each award engraved on the base.

Custom MADE fabricated LaunCode’s awards on a handful of the machines in our makerspace- including our waterjet, sandblasting cabinet, laser cutter, metal mill, and powder coating bay. Each award was designed in house and handmade by our expert fabricators. Since fabricating these awards, MADE has handmade more awards and recognition gifts for local organizations. Each design is customized to the organization or company, and can be made from any material we use in our shop. We work with all kinds of materials- from walnut to etched glass, fluorescent acrylic to powder coated stainless steel and more!
