CNC stands for Computer Numerical Control, and is the automated control of machines by means of a computer. MADE Makerspace in St. Louis has a range of CNC machines, from CNC routers to embroidery machines, computer-controlled milling and much more!
MADE Makerspace in St. Louis offers regularly scheduled training and classes on all of our machines. Our most popular machine is our CNC router, located in the woodshop, which is often used to cut out wood furniture from computer designs (or CAD designs). Our shop uses Autodesk Fusion 360 as the in-house modelling software.
Another popular piece of equipment is our waterjet, which uses a highly-pressurized stream of water to cut through metal, granite, glass, and more. It’s commonly used to make metal signs that are then finished in our powder coating bay.
