RESERVE EQUIPMENTPower sanders are used to shape and smooth wood with abrasion. MADE has four power sanders in the woodshop: disc/belt, oscillating edge, oscillating spindle, and the drum sander.
The drum sander works a little bit like a planer, but with sandpaper rather than blades. It is great for smoothing large panels and removing very small amounts of material.

Bring your own wood, fasteners, hardware, any any other consumables when you use the woodshop at MADE. The shop provides a limited number of clamps and some basic hand tools, and there are some hand-held power tools available for checkout (orbital sander, jig saw, circular saw, etc.)
MADE provides 100 grit paper on the sanders. If you’d like to bring in your own sandpaper, our staff will change it out for you.
