The Stratasys F170 is one of our two professional quality 3D printers. It has a larger print volume than the uPrint and a bit more functionality. It prints high quality parts in a temperature controlled environment to help eliminate the warping you can get from printing in the open air environment of a hobbyist desktop 3D printer. In addition to the ABS model filament, the F170 uses a soluble support filament to eliminate sagging and enable fine detail. This support material can be dissolved away from the finished part in the Stratasys Clean Station.

What is the print resolution?

Between 0.013 and 0.005 inches (330 to 127 microns) depending on the material.

Do I need to bring my own materials?

You may use MADE’s supply of Stratasys ABS filament and pay by weight of your finished print. If you provide your own filament, it must be supported by Stratasys.

What materials does the F170 use?

The F170 can be loaded with PLA, ABS, and ASA. MADE only stocks ABS, so any alternative filaments must be purchased from Stratasys by the member.

How do you charge for materials?

$0.25 per gram (both model and support filament).

What type of file does the F170 use?

GrabCAD Print accepts .STL files and prepares them for printing.

Do I setup the print files myself?

When you take the 3D Print: FDM Access class, you will learn how to set up your files for the F170. MADE staff will assist you in actually running the printer.

What about post-processing?

MADE staff will assist you in removing your part/s from the printer. MADE staff will clean and dry your print for you for $25, or you may clean and dry your part/s yourself.

How long should I reserve the printer?

You must reserve the printer for the duration of your print, including setup and post-processing. If the print runs overnight while MADE is closed, you will not be charged for that time, BUT you must reserve the first hour/s of the next day to retrieve your print.
