The Othermill Pro is a desktop CNC mill designed to quickly and easily prototype PCB boards, or printed circuit boards. It can also cut wood, plastic, wax, and even some metals using a variety of end mills and drill bits that can mill to the precision of 25th of a micron.

Can you make circuit boards on the Othermill?

Yes, the Othermill is designed to mill PCB to quickly and easily prototype boards.

Do I need to provide my own cutting tools?

We recommend members provide their own cutting tools. The Othermill has an ER-11 collet and accepts tools with a ⅛” shank. Tools can be purchased from https://www.bantamtools.com/collections/end-mills-and-bits.

What software does it use?

The Othermill has its own proprietary software, which can be downloaded for free from www.bantamtools.com. Bantam Tools Desktop Milling Machine Software is easy to use, and supports the following formats: Eagle BRD (.brd), Gerber (.gtl and .grb), G-Code (.nc, .tap, .gcode), SVG (.svg), and Bantam Plan Files (.btm). To design PCBs, you can use Autodesk EAGLE, Altium, KiCad, or Gerber. To design 3D components, you can use CAD programs like SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion 360, or VCarve.
