A straight stitch quilter is a sewing machine that can do one stitch only – straight! Simple enough. That means you can stitch forward straight as well as in reverse to anchor a stitch. But it is important to understand that a straight stitch machine still has a lot of versatility. It can be used to do many other things besides sewing a seam together.

The Juki TL-98Q is a high-speed straight stitch and quilting machine. The needle bar is locked in perfect alignment, eliminating “wobbly-looking stitches.” Because the needle plate doesn’t need to accommodate different needle positions (for example, the side-to-side of a zig-zag stitch), it has a very small opening, which is perfect for sewing all fabric types, including delicates, without distortion. To facilitate quilting, it has an extra deep throat space and dual tension knobs to accommodate bulky projects, and offers the space, control, and visibility that sewists need when working on quilts to improve the free-motion quilting experience.

Members reserving MADE’s straight stitch quilter also get access to other resources in our textiles bay, like the 48″ x 96″ cutting table, similar sized layout table, bobbin winder, various hand tools, and more. MADE’s straight stitch is used for various projects, from traditional quilting methods to clothing and accessory construction.
